Choosing a photographer for your wedding can be a stressful task. While you might be able to look at a fantastic portfolio, you won’t see the final result once your wedding has taken place. It’s important to spend a bit of time selecting your photographer – choosing the artistic style, budget and professionalism that suits you.
Look for inspiration
Before finding the perfect photographer in South Africa, look for some inspiration online. Every wedding photographer shoots in a particular style, so it’s important to know what you want before finding a photographer that shoots in a similar style.
Find available photographers
Once you know your style, browse around local wedding groups on Facebook and the Event Vine directory for a photographer. Take a look at some of their albums to see if you like them. Ask for some suggestions on your social accounts too.
Meet them in person
It’s important to meet potential photographers in person so are open to personal suggestions and your personalities work well together. No one wants a horrible photographer around friends and family on your important day. Perhaps discuss price and see if you can negotiate a slight discount.
